The Chief Minister of Maharashtra had worked out the Value Added Tax imposed on the prices of petrol and diesel in July. Due to which the price of petrol was reduced by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 3.
And due to the reduction in the prices of crude oil at the international level, it seemed that the prices of petrol and diesel would come down. In these 15 days of the festival, the sale of petrol and diesel has increased by 22.7 percent to 1.2 million tonnes. And whereas last year at this time 1.05 Million Tonnes were sold.
